Kate was not terribly impressed that I wanted to buy a Blue Moon-series erotic novel, but since the back cover promised that the “teasing enigma of legendary jazz cornetist Bix Beiderbecke’s piano piece, In a Mist, [would be] skillfully woven into this intensely erotic and psychological study,” I couldn’t resist. Plus, apparently, there’s lots of spanking.
Here's a highlight:
“No,” he said softly. “It is Bix Beiderbecke. The piece is called ‘In a Mist.’ Appropriate, don’t you think?” he smiled, pointing to the weather outside.
“It’s so beautiful it makes me want to cry,” Elizabeth whispered, tears gathering in her eyes.
At that moment she looked so much like a little lost girl of Pre-Raphaelite days, with her sad blue eyes and her dark-blonde hair in splendid disarray, that Lennox [her piano teacher] didn’t know whether to kneel down and worship her—or seize her in his arms and kiss her violently.
And this is how it ends:
His eyes glinting dangerously, he flipped up the back of her new dress and peeled down her flimsy little pink panties.
“Oh golly gosh!” she protested half-heartedly, “you’re surely not going to spank me again, are you? My poor bottom’s still sore from yesterday afternoon!”
But he was already looking inside the bedroom cabinet for the hairbrush.
ADDENDUM, Or Why I Love Amazon’s Customer Reviews:
According to one customer who gave In a Mist five stars, it “is definitely a masterpiece by those who love stories with erotic spanking as its theme.”
